Recently the Dickinson County Bike Path committee recognized Kelly Rumpf for her efforts for helping the DCBP. For the past three years, Rumpf who is the Health Educator with the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department, applied for and received about $29,000 in grants for the DCBP from the State of Michigan. She is also the Chair person of the Building Healthier Communities Coalition for this area. The BHCC, which promotes a healthier living environment, also promotes biking and hiking in the Dickinson-Iron County area. Shown above is Bob Werner, President of the Dickinson County Bike Path thanking Kelly Rumpf. Werner stated that “due to Kelly’s efforts, we were able to purchase and install bike route signs and start constructing some paths in Dickinson County”. She was also presented two gift certificates from the DCBP members in appreciation of her efforts. The Dickinson County Bike Path members are all volunteers and donate numerous hours every month to promote tourism in the area and provide a healthier living opportunity. Everyone is welcomed to attend the monthly meeting the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM in the County Library in Iron Mountain. Check the web site at www.dcbikepath.org for more information.
Every one is encouraged and welcome to attend monthly meetings.
